Rolfing Structural Integration is one of the most powerful tools I ever encountered in my life to serve others" Craniosacral Therapy can be so amazingly profound. The fact that such a subtle touch could impact someone so deeply still humbles me” |
MAYUMI HARA -Certified Advanced Rolfer & Registered Massage Therapist
Holistic Bodywork has always been Mayumi's Passion. Her unique combination of education and experience has developed into an undeniable wisdom of the mind and body. The intention of Mayumis' work is to awaken the inherent health-driven consciousness within the body. Her clients describe her work as safe, gentle, peaceful, regenerative & transformative. It began with Cranosacral Therapy. In the course of learning craniosacral Therapy technique, Mayumi was fascinated with the subtle rhythmic movement throughout the body which she had never tuned in before. She was fascinated by the subtle energy flow and/or restrictions. She is grateful for the way that her presence and her hands can be used as a extra battery to resolve blockage and restore inherent health. Mayumi herself feels restored by giving craniosacral treatments. Then came Rolfing. Mayumi was introduce to Rolfing in 1995 through her sister Hiromi, who Mayumi witnessed looking at ease, graceful and harmonious in her body - which was very different from what she remembered growing up. Her sister was in the middle of a Rolfing Integration Series. Being very curious, Mayumi booked a series herself and by the 5th session she knew she would become a Certified Rolfer. Mayumi benefitted from Rolfing in the obvious physical ways such as the elimination of pain that comes from misalignment. However, the ease and harmonious 'feeling of bliss' from being in her body in a new way was indescribably different. Mayumi has been practicing Craniosacral Therapy since 1999, completing Levels 1-4 with Jim Asher, as well as Biodynamic Craniosacral with Tom Shaver DO. She has been practicing Rolfing Structural Integration since receiving her certification in 2001 and Rolf Movement since 2003. More recently Mayumi completed a 2200 hour Massage Therapy program with M.H. Vicars school of Massage Therapy in June of 2016. She is also a Reiki practitioner since 1997, and Reiki teacher since 2004. Completed advanced rolfing training in 2018. Born and raised in Japan. Received BA of Literature from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. She loves gardening, the ocean, nature, animals and good food. |
